December in San Carlos, Continued

The end of December brought us Gail and Harley Lyons, who drove down here in their truck camper two days before Christmas.  We enjoyed many a home cooked meal here and took them to see the sights, but, unfortunately, the weather was pretty chilly, which didn't portend well for many beach/ocean excursions.  Of course, chilly here is sixties and low seventies with a bit of a wind chill-still better than what they would experience home in Longmont where it was hovering around 0 many days.

Look who came with them!
Boo is not too sure what to make of her!

Christmas morning at the San Carlos Hotel

It was a bit of a wait to be served but well
worth it for the view and the sunshine.
In low seventies today

We walked the beach from the hotel to the Soggy Peso
for spiked coffee and hot chocolate.

Spent a day in Guaymas getting lost,
which is always interesting.

I spent a morning with Margene and Judy, painting at Katie's house.
Note that I am not showing my hideous drawing of the mountains!
We went to the Open Houses on four different days and saw some incredibly beautiful places.

Andrew was very entertaining!

One of our favorites
We strolled the Marina and met up with Cheryl and Bill at Hammerheads to hear Sam Rainwater and Susan King.

Cutting a fine rug

The sunset was gorgeous this night!

New Year's Eve was spent at La Palapa Griega with Mark Mulligan.

Afterwards, we dropped Boo and the Lyons off at home and we went to Candye's beach bonfire party!

Gail and I cooked up many a fine meal at home and our trustworthy
dishwashers always showed up to do their part.

All too soon we were saying goodbye to
Gail and Harley at Tequila's on their
way north to camp in southern AZ.
