The latter part of August was pretty much taken up with doctors' appointments for us, making plans for Jim to pick up Janet in New York and fly back with her to Boulder. We got her settled into Frasier Meadows Assisted Living for more rehabilitation and got her signed up with doctors in town. I had some Mohs surgery early on and after a 6 week wait from that, I had a hip replacement surgery planned. We moved up to the Lyons' cabin (so graciously loaned to us for recovery by Gail and Harley) a week and a half early to get set up with all my equipment and to enjoy a week's get together with my brother, John, and his wife, Suzi who flew in from Venice, Florida.

Storms moving in |
The surgery was done October 25th-this one done anteriorly on the left hip (the right one was 20 years ago)!I recovered, with Jim's excellent help, at the Lyons' cabin up near Estes Park. It was all on one level and easy to negotiate in and out of the guest bed there with metal slats to help boost me in and out of bed.

And the snow was a beautiful distraction! |
I've forgotten most of the details but was only in the hospital one night and could ride in the car for 1 1/2 hours to the cabin with little trouble. After a few days, Janet was moving out of Frasier and into The Peloton Apartments and we were able to go down and help about every other day.

She was really tired but happy to spend some quality time with guess who? |
After nearly 6 weeks, I was given the go ahead to leave for Mexico. As luck would have it, right about that time, Colorado was pretty deep into snow. We left anyway on Thanksgiving Day and only made it as far as Colorado Springs. We decided to start celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary as we had forgone any definite plans since my health wasn't the best. We spent Thanksgiving and the next night at the Broadmoor Hotel, two nights at The Santa Fe Hotel in Santa Fe and the last two nights outside Tucson. From this point on there are no more pictures as I cannot get them to transfer from my phone to my computer. Just know that we are still in Mexico as of today, March 25th and have been self-isolating in place. We may not have an update for awhile until we get home and can get to an Apple store.
