Winter and Spring-2019-20

We arrived in San Carlos on the 3rd of December.  Unpacking and organizing usually takes us a good week.  By the time we were settled, our 50th anniversary was upon us.  Although I initially did very well with my hip replacement, I had been having lots of pain with my IT Band and Hip Flexors.  (I capitalize that because it hurt like hell!). We just weren't capable of planning an event either in Colorado or in Mexico.  We decided that wherever or however we chose to celebrate, it had to be somewhere where I didn't need to walk far, nor entertain anyone and could recuperate. Maybe next year we can plan a party.

So, we chose to go to Alamos, southeast of SC, where we have been many times before.  Jamie, the proprietor of Hacienda de los Santos, offered us a remarkably memorable long weekend.  She upgraded our room, gave us a private dining room for dinner and planned a fabulous surprise.

Charisma-the only one in the dining room so Boo could come in, too.

Our room

How cool is this bed?  The shell lights up at night.

Part of our bathroom-even had a separate room for the toilet and another
for a dressing room, with a casita upstairs.

We had a private dining room all to ourselves!

A fabulous dinner!!!!!

And the best part of all-Jaime arranged a private concert by Ramon!
(and not just a song or two-he serenaded us throughout the meal)
The next evening was a fabulous quiet dinner at Teresita's:

These are huge semis blocking the roads, to make every car stop and give
a donation (can't remember what for)
Next up was Christmas with the Thomsen/Howells:

And a fabulous painting group who came to our house since I couldn't get around very well.

Me with my buff mask-what a look
At this point I developed a horrible inflammation on my lips
and couldn't be in the sun, so this was my solution for being
out on the terrace.

Beth miraculously can do these paintings in a few minutes.
