April - Pre-Semana Santa

We said our goodbyes to Chris and Meg and the kiddos on Friday night and spent Saturday doing laundry, cleaning and getting back to just being the two of us.  Sunday we had a kayaking date with Cynthia and Bill.  We put in at La Posada Beach and kayaked out to Honeymoon Island where there was some major nesting and breeding taking place.  There were all kinds of birds-thousands of them!

Boo usually sits between my legs, where I can hold him tightly.  This was
an especially wonderful day-clear skies, warm weather and smooth waters.

Bill and Cynthia - we have the same kayak!
The art group met at Piedras Pintas Beach this week.

Norma came late, but with lots of enthusiasm!
With Jackie, who is from Boulder!!
Our neighborhood, the Caracol (meaning, snail) had their annual potluck and karaoke party at the little beach, Cotton Cove, at the bottom of our hill.  It was unbelievably windy when we arrived but calmed down shortly after sunset.  I am still chortling at our singing all our favorites from the 50s and 60s!!!

Check out those palms in the wind!

Dee with the songbook

One of the men had a drone that visited us-really a weird
experience.

All keeping our eyes on the drone

Just love the sunsets when the waters turn red, too!

An almost full moon

A little Elvis - Are You Lonesome Tonight?

An hysterical Barbara Ann

Jim and I went out to Bonifacio's for a little celebration of the day we met 48 years ago!!!!!!!!

Hard to believe that this will close in less than a month and a hotel will
be going up here -very sad for us!

Omar and another jazz trio:  Brad and Pab

We were joined by Boo, of course, and later by Susan
Anderson and her sister, Katy who were leaving town the
next day.

And, the last music festival of the season - a great jazz band from LA and Lorena was joined by her sister for the first time here.

We got out for a little exercise climbing the hills around Piedras Pintas Beach, where we are just beginning to see people arriving and setting up camp for Semana Santa.

We went kayaking here the next day - alas, no pictures!

A welcome sight!  Yay, OXXO!

And I assume that these are here to help in emergencies!
It turns out that Joe has to return to Houston for some medical tests and that their house deal fell through, so they are in transition, deciding what to do next.  Before he left, we all met at Sunset Grill for cocktails and best wishes for the two of them.  Those are wish bones that she's holding.
