The DyerDings Come to San Carlos

Meg, Chris and their kids flew to Tucson and then took the overnight bus to Guaymas.  We picked them up there and brought them back to rest, but they were up for a little first day excitement, so we wandered down to what is now called "The Trash Beach" (it's public and very Mexican and a great place to put in our kayak and rent other stuff like paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards, etc.)  I wish the locals would keep it cleaner but it is the state of affairs here.

This group came shortly after us.  They launched a few kayaks,
had a picnic, visited and were gone in less than an hour.  This
is Margene's tree, which she paints from her house nearby.

It was REALLY windy, so Meg had the job
of holding down the umbrella.  We took turns
in our kayak today.  All had a great time.  Chris
and Jameson even did a little fishing, though
nothing was caught.

Julianna looking adorable, as always
The next day we had tickets to the annual Castaway Kids Beach Party.  It was a long day of eating, dancing, swimming, visiting and mostly enjoying music from every band in town.

Met up with Roger, Judy and Larry

Susan swam and explored with kids.

I made friends with the waiters!

A day at Boo's Beach....

The old folks hide in the shade!

Jameson loves being buried in the sand.

One of Chris' fabulous meals.  This one was
Snapper, fresh from the fish camp.

A night to say goodbye to Cinda and Win and hello again to Jim and Cindy at Soggy.

A very windy day but we managed to kayak around the bay and Meg and the kids tried out the Paddle Boats.

Wednesday was market day in Guaymas!  Another visit from the Yaquis.  My favorite is always the spice market.  I must learn to do more with all these choices of dried chili peppers and powders.

We decided on a short trip to see JJ on the way home.

And a final hurrah with the Zoia's-too windy for a bonfire but still lots of fun was had by all!

Jameson loved being buried again-and, this time we decorated him.

Roommates' last goodbye

Jameson at Soggy Peso-one last time:

The end of the story is that they left for the 8:30 pm bus in Guaymas.  It turned out that the bus was an hour late and after two long stops at checkpoints on the way to Tucson, they arrived 10 minutes late for the flight to Denver.  Because of the snowstorm in Denver, they then went to Vegas to catch a plane to Albuquerque and, hopefully, will arrive safe and sound, many, many hours later.  We feel so badly for all!  But it sure was fun having them!
